Where do we find this Plug-in and what is the cost, if any?
-
This will be a great addition to our Libraries
Thanks alot Simon.
(on a side note: the Lighting Tech I know is also Simon and a wizz on VW with the lights - small world. Ever been called Martin whilst wearing thier jacket?)

Hi Carl
The lighting options in Final Quality Renderworks will use whatever is currently set in the Lighting Options - either on the design layer or on the viewport.
But Horst is quite right - take one of the styles and then experiment with the options to create your own style.
Good luck!
How do I view these Lighting options for a Design Layer?
-
Thanks Horst
That would be the right way of doing it if you did not know any of the settings.
As Mentioned above I would like a middle ground between the 2 render Styles, reason is both have good and bad qualities so I would like to combine the effect.
I have now set all to High
Ambient Info to Off
Indirect Lighting setting to None
Emitter = 100%
Temperature @ Indoor3400K
All other Options are selected.
My scene is a Layher Scaff Stage with LEDscreen structures.
I have created a Tress Background texture on a extrude with transparent mask.
The Realistic Final blured that edge very good but had to much light happing and could not duplicate the light&shadows FQR had with HDRI Sky39 did. The FQR had a distinctive line/edge on that trees texture that make it look like it is stuck on.
Hope this makes sence.
These settings have duplicatied the light/shadow as in FQR but I still sit with that edge...
So these be the settings for FQR then.
Wondering what can be done to soften texture edge of the masking like it is done when you apply Realistic Final
I will need to convert the renders before posting them here as they are Exported to PDF @ 300dpi and are +/- 14Mb each.
Thanks for the comments guys.

Thanks Tamsin
So the Indirect Lighting is set to none?
Ambient Info - ?%
Emitter Brightness = ??%
Temperature = ??K
Anti-Alising and blurriness selected?
Image Exposure ?%
and All the other Quality settings are at High as you said.

So if you do it before inserting it looses it properties when inserted?
If not that seems the one way of doing it.
I also would like to know as I have a church with staind windows and been battling to make it look like stained glass.

Good day All
With all these new Renderworks Options like the new Render styles I was wondering what the settings would be for Final Quality Render?
I'm trying to produce a custom setting somewhere between FQR and Realistic Exterior Final Render Style.
Thanks for any info

How do I open/use this download if I do not have C4D?

Is this tread problem similar to my post?

@ greenartichoke:
Another work around would be to use Classes instead of Layers....

Awesome man, loooking good there.
Try setting the light exposure a bit less, think defualt is 35%, set to 25%. you still get the hard shadow, just not so harsh or burned.
Set as M Horst did (View>Lighting>Set Lighting Options)
Play around with Brightness and tempeture and color.
Keep Well

Good day
Try placing a light in the drawing and setting the intensity higher. Select Cast shadows and deselect soft shadows in the OIP when light is active/selected.
Set your distance fall and angle fall to none. This gives you no fall off so just a direct light beam, should create harder shadows. Try doing it with a Directional and a spot light to see if the one works better.
Other than that I'm not to sure what can be done exept for the 3 point light way which could be set far away when light is a Directional light.
Keep Well

Good day Kemy
Add your system details to your signature like mine.
Are you using any light sources and which render modes?
Go see if this thread on light and shadows helps you in any way.

Good day All
Co-worker is having a vanishing problem as well.
Similar to jnr. here:
http://techboard.vectorworks.net/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=166331#Post166331
System:
Win 7
Radian HD6470
8Gig Ram
VW 2012
Drawing setup:
3 layers - design, presentation block and title block.
Set to view only two layers, 3rd is off and on Show snap others
Problem:
When wanting to render with only 2 layers visible Show/snap others the Presentation Layer info disappears, when select All it shows up in the orange highlight, as selected.
When active only in Pres layer and same rendering is applied it does not disappear.
Applied a viewport but does not render at all unless printed or exported(in this case to pdf)
When printed to pdf the background is black and in both the resolution is not as what was set in Custom Render options - very pixelated
Did create a new drawing and copied the objects into the new one - same result.
All objects classes are set to none and visible.
The only solution I see is that it is a symbol, but how does this the affect the layers not visible when rendered?
Any advice and help would be greatly appreciated
Thank you

Thanks man
Shown me a new and better way of getting good renders.
Loving it

VW should be able to bring in .skp geometry without a problem. I haven't figured out how to bring in the imagery/textures yet. I'll let you know if I find a process. Ideally, a Google Earth aerial image would be at the right scale and save lots of time!
Export as a 3Ds file.
It brings in the textures, but in the wrong scale.

Very nice there Horst and thank you

This looks interresting....
IMO....No Structural BIM->No Insurance->No permits->NO PROJECT
Exporting light fitting data by IFC doesnt cut it....without sound footings/Foundations your structure falls down. For revit strategically it makes good business sense to target VWs only weakness? Furthermore, with more reports due out on other disasters,Floods,Earthquakes,Cyclones,Fires etc etc
Structural BIM will be a must on every project.
Not sure I understand your reply to my post in the sence of relevance.
I do understand the BIM part, but I mentioned it looked interresting with regards to the original post for a work/job opportunity.

Thanks guys
I also needed to use an ETC S4 and found some bizzare behavior from it.
This fix sorted it out though.
Why was this not included in the service packs? it is obvious a problem.
I found this aswell:
http://www.benghiatlighting.com/software/products/source-four-savvy-section
Seems there is a new fualt with the symbol.
I did as mentioned above by Mr.T and it worked.
I edited the symbol so to point 90 deg/horizontal.
Light comes in on z=0,looks fine, so I move it to 1500 and the symbol, not the yolk tilts 49 deg up.
Whjern I go back and edit the symbol it shows to be be at 90 deg/horizontal and after editing back to zore it is tilted 49 upwards
WHY IS THERE SO MUCH WRONG WITH THIS EXPENSIVE PROGRAM??

This looks interresting....

See if you have the same result when starting a new drawing with everything in it except the pdf.
Sometimes importing something does wierd stuff to VW.
Also is the reference drawing set to render on specific DPI in it's origenal form?
-
Thanks for the link.
a friend pointed out to me that VW 2012 have all these lights in the Libraries, looks like a copy from here, but symbols are also lighting instuments.
So no real need to import when you have upgraded.
But there will be new models from ETC and so now we know where to go.

Needing to download this again.
