  1. Good day Uli

I understand a bit better now the situation you have with the file. Maybe posting in the Landmark section you could get better attention from someone who has the same setup.(if you have not done this).

The texture seems to be black cuase you have not RenderWorks. Pity VW is setup this way.

Sorry I could not be of more assistance.

    Keep Well

  2. Good day Uli

I just went back to your first post, and noted that you said it is a georeferenced file. Not to sure if this behaves in the same manner as a normal texture or not.

You also said you loose the functions when saving it in PS.

What format do you save it in? If you save as a .GIF file it will keep the background clear/transparent.

I do not know of another way to do it in VW.

    Hope this helps you

  3. Good day Uli

Which version of VW do you have?

Add this and your OS in your signature for all future posts.

I VW12.5, You would edit image>Select Image Color as color.

Select Mask Transparency as Transparency>Reuse Image(selecting the same image you are using>Transparent color>Pic what you need to make transparent.

Hope this helps as newer/other versions might be different.

  4. Good day All.

Thank you starling75. I,m only able to use the sketchup5 file. But now it seems I do not know what settings to use to get a good looking beanbag. The settings they ask when importing does not make a difference in the render, but would like to know what the correct settings must be and then what do I do about the sharp edges?

Render is a FastRender with Shadows @300dpi.

    Regards

  5. Good day Fergy

Also take into consideration what you are rendering, as in what is in the drawing itself.

Does it have a plain two colour background or an HDRI.

What does the drawinging consist of? Extrudes, Symbols, Polygons and what textures?. For example a simple drawing with a lot of trussing(squared to minumize size), I battle to render with an HDRI on FastRenderWithShadows. But a full stage with a 1000PAX seated inside a venue with multiple lights and LitFog background will take the same on CustomRender.

Depends what you want to Render and not just how you do it.

  6. By looking at the shadows, sees what lighting effect it will have if you rotate the room 180deg in relation to the sun source. See what light will come streaming through the window behind the bed.

Also what is the transparency of the glass?

I would use Image reflectivity and you need to have some sort of reflectivity for it to reflect, might just be why it is so dark in there.

  7. You can also move the page boundary away from your drawing area. Click on the little hand in the tool pallete and hold it there until it shows you your two options. Select the icon that looks like a page. Then simply grab the printing area and move it out of your way. I like this because I can easily move it back over to check my drawing against print boundary.

    Never knew this was possible...

Why would you want or need to move the page boundry? As what is the purpose of this tool?

  8. Hi Bill

I too have had bad news with mirrored objects. I have truss screens drawn in 3d and when mirroring after an image was aplied it sometimes rendered incorrectly, with streaks going through it at 45deg or sometimes only part of the image appears.

I take it as a bug on my system, filing it as a bug seened pointless to me as I read on here that NNA will not bother anyway to fix it, unless one of the users on here had a script for it. Note: I don't think it happened everytime I mirrored, but I got so into not doing it I never had the problem.

    Hope you come right

    Keep Well
