  1. Try downloading a HP DesignJet Postscript printer driver. Install it as if you actually had the printer. Use that printer driver to set up your page. Use the print command and check the 'print to file' box. I believe that the file created is a .plt file. If not, it is probably something that a local blueprinting can handle. If not, try printing to a .pdf and sending that to them.

  2. [Mad] Please, please, please work on better navigation in the resource browser. I would love to able to actually navigate in the resource browser in some way where I'm not constantly forced to go back to the 'top level.' When was this 'top level' thing implemented anyway. It must have been from v9 to v10. I suggest a move back to the way it has been done in v.8 and lower. [Mad]
  3. Is there a way that I can keep the attributes, such as channel number and color, when I use spotlight to replace one fixture for another.

When I update my paperwork, I will occasionally need to swap out symbols. All of the information from the previous fixture should definitely swap over as well.

The only way I have found to do this is to actually type in the replacement symbol name into the OI pane.

  4. While you folks are back on the topic. When I put accessories onto fixtures, I would assume that the attributes of the instrument would be applied to it's accessory. I have been doing it manually afterwords. Very unfriendly I must say.

  5. I've got the exact opposite problem. I have also imported my label legends. The text is immovable. I don't have the ability to drag the text around at all. I have done one thing that might be the cause. I have done a purge of everything in the document. Maybe I inadvertantly deleted something?

  6. Hello,

Can anyone give me a tip on how to make multiple lines in the OI box. A majority of the time, my color information is quite long. Our designers have been known to use three or four separate colors.

I have been using a second field to solve this, but it then causes me to go back and tweak every unit.

    Thanks

  7. This is not working for me either. I am using 10.1.2 PC. I have resorted to grouping my far cycs and moving them that way. I have also had to individually number them. Unless... the unit actually becomes a different symbol and is simply not swapping after the command has been initiated

  8. So I have these fabulous drawings in Spotlight that look great and so on. When someone opens these drawings in a basic version of Vectorworks 10, I get these ugly boxes around the lights and a lot of grousing about how they cannot read the drawings. Is there some way to export a drawing to a non Spotlight version that will look fine without any modifications. I will probably have to stop using Spotlight altogether if there isn't a workaround. I don't want to do that.

    Maybe a Vectorscript?

    Thanks.

  9. Can anyone help me get the different palattes to anchor on the same line? The spotlight palatte doesn't weant to live on the same line as the 2D Tools palatte. I want one box wide or deep. Am working with VW 10.1 for windows.

  10. Hi Folks.

Well I've gone and upgraded to 10.1.2 Spotlight. While trying to define each position in my lighting grid, I have continuously lost control of ALL commands and have been forced to quit. It's not quite a freeze as much as it is a loss of input. I can pull down the menus but cannot select anything at all. (Even to quit -or- save) The program is not responding to keyboard commands either. Extremely annoying!

    Any tips?

    Martin
