  1.

in some previous  versions it was possible to select the language for the Braceworks calculation report. This option has been removed with some service pack.
It is completely unclear to me why. I use the international version of VW. In this respect the languages of the most important markets should be available.
Since the language selection already existed, it should not be difficult to integrate it again.

    regards Jim

  2. I'm not sure the subject has been raised before.
I painfully miss the possibility of assigning a different cross section to a truss.
This was still possible in VW 2019. In 2020, the corresponding button no longer appears in the OIP.
Does anyone know the reason why this useful feature has disappeared or am I missing something here?

thank you very much for any input77987659_VW_TrussCustomize.thumb.JPG.7660e54e9419b154faaf568378fbb752.JPG1840694561_VW_TrussNo_Customize_2020.thumb.JPG.6ebf5e249461915964ad35ef81c3963c.JPG

  3. Jim,

the German Version of Vectorworks has a "Multi stamp Tool". A "must have" in my opinion.

I was hoping for years now that this Feature will be available in the international Version too.

Any chance to see it in the future?

    best regards

    Mike "Jim"

  4. you can do a little bit of customization in the Tools/Plugins/Plug in manager for instance default class.

The Symbols used for the plugin are stored in the Chain Hoist Symbols.vwx

you find the file in the libraries /Defaults/ Hoist Tools folder

    best regards

  6. Just an idea,

did you use the eyedropper tool to copy attributes while editing your LL?

you might have copied class settings. Check the class settings for the "Purpose" Text in the LL Manager /Layout editor.

    good luck

  7. I think the Instrument summary is pulling the information from the Light Info Record

attached to the symbol in the resource browser.

If you change values in the OIP nothing will happen. If you change the wattage in the Light info record the Instrument Summary will update

    good luck

  8. I had a similar issue,

imported dwg, converted Fixture symbols using the convert to instrument command. Everything worked as expected but the modify Lighting instrument

    color option did not.

you need to attach the light info record to the symbol in the RB first and replace all

imported/converted symbols in the drawing with this symbol. this worked for me.

    I don't know if it's a bug.

    best Jim

  9. I got a bit lost,

I imported a dwg file with a couple of fixtures. All fixtures came in with their original data (fixture number etc.)

when I convert the symbols to lighting devices the data gets lost. I know that the Lighting Device is just a container, but I thought the original data will be kept with the symbol.

My intention was to create a worksheet pulling the information using the original record format and then copy these data in the corresponding Lighting device fields.

    Any thoughts

    thank you!

  10. Hi michaelk,

thank you for your quick response.

I opened the file, and the worksheet looks like the attached photo, just zoomed out a little bit.

On my maschine it is not counting the squares inside the "blobs". Even after hitting recalculate no change.

    Did I miss something?

    thanks

  11. Hi All,

I want to count symbols with a record (Testlabel in this case) who reside in different locations. So far everything works like expected.

If I place a Symbol with nested symbols with the same record, they are not counted. (including symbols is checked)

    Where is my mistake?

  12. I run into the following problem:

I created a hatch which I want to use in a Sheet Border Object. When I set the Line Thickness to 5mm, the Lines are "overshooting" the Sheet Border Object.

With 2mm everything works like expected.

    Any Ideas?

  13. I think all of us have a different approach to setting up a lighting plot / 3d model.

Rock'n Roll Sets just differ from theatrical sets with pipes ect.

In my case, I just use one design layer and put the other stuff like trusses moving lights and conventionel fixtures in different classes.

with the new tool everyhing is different. I have to deal with more layers.

The biggest problem for me is to involve non spotlight instruments like a stage wich I normaly create as an extrude in the model layer.

I could not see the "keep seperate" or something option in the dialog box working??????

Cool Tool but more explaination needed!
