On OSX, a few of the early Vectorworks 2013 installers failed to add the Create Detail Viewport plugin. This will cause Vectorworks to crash if you attempt to use this command. This can be corrected manually without reinstalling the entire program.
Download the plugin file at the bottom of this page, and uncompress/unzip the .VSO file then close Vectorworks 2013 and open the HD:Applications:Vectorworks 2013:Plug-ins folder and paste the plugin here. Relaunch Vectorworks and the command should work properly.
