Teaser Tuesday - 2D Components for Hybrid Objects - Vectorworks 2019
This... this is a big one. The hybrid nature of many Vectorworks objects and symbols has been incredibly useful for a very long time. Times change however, and even more is needed from this system. In answer to this, we are introducing 2D Components for Hybrid Objects, which has a relatively mundane name, but significant implications in Vectorworks.
This feature expands the capability of Hybrid objects. They no longer only display a 2D graphic in Top/Plan view, but front, back, left
I"ve been playing with this feature a bit. Thumbs down for the disappearing Display 2d Components checkbox that is visible only if Background Render is set to Hidden Line. Its reasonable for it to be greyed out when its not available but disappearing interface items are not cool.
Also, as a wishlist item I should be able to use 2d Components whenever Hidden Line is used, even if its the Foreground Render setting. I often work with my Background Render set to OpenGL and my Foreg
