Vectorworks Foundation CourseFor all Vectorworks Users — 3 hours per day, across 4 days. :
Our Vectorworks Foundation courses are always great fun as they bring together designers from different disciplines, and offer an opportunity to network and even find opportunities to collaborate! These courses are suitable for any new Vectorworks users whether you're an architect, landscape architect, garden designer, interior designer, lighting designer or event planner. It is not aimed at any specific design discipline, but will cover the basics of the Vectorworks interface, the basics of 2D drawing, introduction to 3D modelling and how to find and use the extensive resource libraries and create your own symbols. We even sneak in a peek at some of the more advanced tools, such as Walls, Doors and Windows. You'll move from a blank screen to completing a basic 2D plan, that looks great and is ready to print. Although the course is aimed at all designers, we do include some example plans for you to copy, which cover all the tools you'll learn, just in case you're short of inspiration on the day.
COURSE PRE-REQUISITES
There are no specific Vectorworks pre-requisites for this course. However, if you are completely new to using a computer, we recommend that you familiarise yourself with how to use the mouse and keyboard, and how files are saved and organised on the computer, to enable you to gain the maximum benefit from the course. The trainer will be focused on use of Vectorworks.

The World According to BIMDescription:
Everyone is talking about BIM – big BIM, small BIM, BIM level 2. But what should you think of before you start on your BIM journey? By making sure your house is in order, with the right structure and knowledge, you can make the transition into the World of BIM a whole lot easier. This webinar is focusing on the resources and structure you will be grateful to have in place when you approach your first BIM Execution Plan – it will show you how and why you should have templates prepared, how to work with libraries of resources and how to ensure that you use all of Vectorworks’ tools when it comes to placing your project in the real world with help of GIS.
Learning Objectives:
How to combine traditional CAD data with a cartesian coordinate system, with GIS data and a geographic coordinate system. Understand the BIM structure and the advantages of a BIM workflow. How to ‘talk BIM’ – the main parties involved and their responsibilities. How to set up your resources and workflows for success in your first BIM project. Register
