3D Modelling with VectorworksThis course is suitable for those who have been using Vectorworks and haven't dared to venture into the third dimension. The course is not aimed at any specific design discipline, but looks at the fundamentals of modelling in 3D, whether that be a custom roof, a pergola, a tensile fabric structure or a piece of furniture.
Students intending to move into the world of BIM (Building Information Modelling) will find the ability to model custom objects with Vectorworks invaluable.
AGENDA
Understand 3D viewing tools Create extrudes and sweeps in a multitude of forms Model solids with the interactive Push/Pull and automatic plane detection functionality Use the Taper Face and Deform tools to create just about anything Create detail with Fillet and Chamfer tools Use the Subdivision Modelling tool to create organic shapes NURBS modelling Find out which tools already draw in 3D, and how to model those extra things you need for your design. There will also be a basic introduction to rendering 3D drawings (OpenGL - available with every Vectorworks licence). Please note that this course does not cover site modelling.
COURSE PRE-REQUISITES
Before attending this course, you will need to have completed the following courses:

NBS Chorus Integration with Vectorworks 2020Stephen Hamil, Innovation Director at NBS, will be joined by Martyn Horne and Luka Stefanovic from Vectorworks UK, as they discuss the NBS Chorus plug-in for Vectorworks 2020 Service Pack 3.
Discover how the NBS Chorus integration enables users to access and dynamically link their models to the NBS online specification database, keeping the model as the central source of project information. By specifying product and execution in the NBS cloud, users can achieve the quality outcomes they need with a coordinated information set. NBS Chorus will automatically update the data in the model, ensuring up-to-date specification information at all times. A game-changer for firms working on projects where accurate BIM workflows are required.

Hidden Treasures Seminar - JulyPlease note, this seminar is being hosted by Vectorworks UK and will run at 1.00PM BST, 8AM EDT.
HIDDEN TREASURES IN VECTORWORKS
When learning to use Vectorworks, or any software for that matter, we are likely to focus on learning how to use just what we need to complete a project. Over time, we may believe we know how to use the application to its fullest extent but have only scratched the surface of what is possible. In this session, the Vectorworks training team will guide you through finding those gems (tools/commands) that will make your design process more efficient. They will also change your perspective on how and when to use certain Vectorworks features that you may already use regularly.

Braceworks Essentials SeminarThe design of rigging structures is an integral part of the event, entertainment, display, and exhibit industries. The Braceworks® suite of commands and tools inserts and connects supporting structures (such as trusses and lighting pipes), adds hoists and other supports, and then adds loads to the structures.
With our Braceworks Essentials seminar, you will explore how to accurately calculate and analyze the structural forces of a hanging rigging system, to determine whether the structural system is viable.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
Review Truss and Support Tools
Explore Hoists and Suspension
Add connection points
Insert Loads (Lighting, Video, Audio, Curtains…)
Adjust system heights
Explore how to create a Bridle
Learn how to run Braceworks Calculations
Generate a Calculation Report

Site Planning and Modeling for ArchitectsDescription: Understanding site conditions and their relationship to the built environment is critical to successful architectural design.Having the ability to accurately represent, coordinate, and integrate site conditions into your workflow will increase opportunities for design and overall project success. Attendees will examine various tools for successful planning and modeling of sites, from the planning phase all the way through to construction documentation. :
Learning objectives: - Define the benefits of implementing a GIS at the initial stages of your workflow. : - Assess how real-time co-integration of site and building design workflows impact the final project. - Determine how site modeling best practices can be applied to your firm’s specific workflows. - Explore case studies demonstrating successful site planning and modeling.
