Exporting saved views to another file - is this possible?

is it possible to export saved views to another file? I don't see any way of doing this but would be very very useful if there is a workflow or script that enables this.

 

I'm using VW 2018 on PC.

Other than duplicating a file with the desired saved views, and then deleting old & importing new geometry as you desire, I don't think so.

Thanks line-weight am hoping s'one will say diff. but you're prob. right. It would be such a timesaver (and save on sending whole files across the world).

Presumably one of the issues is that saved views largely consist of a bunch of class & layer visibilities, and those layers & classes won't necessarily even exist in another file?

This was another thread I read on the matter:

 

 

As @rDesign very reasonably says: 'if the issue is that the destination file does not have matching Classes & Layers structure, then Vw should display a dialogue box stating "The Destination file does not have all of the required Classes and Layers used by this Saved View. Would you like to Automatically create them?" '

I thought saved views would simply be a script and transferable, so many inconsistencies in this program.
