Leonard Marsh
Help ASAP, must issue11/13/02! I'm 98% finished with a rendering and the shadows cast by the sun have stopped working. I've checked the Preferences, View: Rendering: Custom RenderWorks Options, etc. for a deactivated setting. Nothing. Did I miss a switch or did VW/RW corrupt my file? Running VW9.5.2/RW on a Mac G4. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
Guest
Select the light object that is used as the sun. In the OIP, make sure there is a checkmark next to "Cast Shadows". Quote Link to comment
Leonard Marsh
Hi Katie, Thanks for the prompt reply. I would like to send you before and after shots from last night at 10:50pm, the moment the rendering turned psychedelic beyond explanation to anyone! Think burnt orange moire fa?ade and appliances with a thick green glass floor. I know about the on-off shadow switch; this is major as it is bizarre! Bottomline: I believe the file has soured. Is it possible to send two pdfs and the file (18megs) for a VW/RW analysis? It was 2:30 am that I gave up on salvaging the file. Because of the time spent, I will try to paste it into a new document without the lighting and go from there. VW help is much appreciated; let me know. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
Guest
Leonard, Sure. I can't promise I'll get to the file immediately as I am kinda backlogged with customer files. I should be able to look at it within the next day upon receiving the file. Quote Link to comment
Leonard Marsh
Katie, what is the best way to send the images and file? Leonard Quote Link to comment
Guest
Leonard, You can email them to tech@nemetschek.net and put Attn: Katie in the subject line. Include a few sentences about what the problem is, in case it doesn't dawn on me. I've been getting alot of files lately, my poor brain can't keep up some days. As soon as I get the files, I'll take a look at them. I'm pretty much caught up on other stuff now. Quote Link to comment
Leonard Marsh
Katie, Caught up! Nice going. We're unable to email the 18meg file; it's too large. Do you have an ftp site? I will email the pdfs to tease you until you have the file. L. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Dave Donley Posted November 14, 2002 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted November 14, 2002 Hello Leonard: If the rendering colors started getting all messed up then it is probably something to do with copying the bitmap to the screen, which is a 2D video card operation. Is the screen set to 256 colors or something? Please email the PDFs to me also at dave@nemetschek.net Quote Link to comment
