csousawy
I am a scenic designer and I am planing on having some trees on stage in my next production. It would be great to have some kind of representation of them in my renderings. Does anyone know where I can get some 3D trees to use? They are going to be small lemon trees about 6'-0" tall in pots. I am using Veectorworks Spotlight 9.5.2 if that makes any diffrence. Quote Link to comment
Peter van der Elst
One way is to make a tree out of a cylinder and a sphere. For the sphere you should try and make a texture with an eroded transparancy filter (play with the settings untill you get the result you want). This works quite nice, you even get shadows. I hope this helped. Quote Link to comment

Peter van der Elst
Are you using VW 9? (i don't know if that could be the problem). I could make a tree for you if you give me some specifications. I could mail the *.mcd file to you? Quote Link to comment
csousawy
I got it to work finally. I'm not quite sure what the problem was. I am using Vectorwork 9.5.2. They ended up looking too lollypop like so I ended up finding an image on the web and just making them an image with a masked transparnecy. Quote Link to comment
