Dom
Hi, How could i create a texture, on an extrude or a plane surface, that would have a light placed behind it with an object between the light and the surface itself, and be able to see the shadow casted from the object on the front side of the surface(opposite side to the light and object) AKA seeing the shadow casted THROUGH the surface, without seeing through the surface itself? VW & RW 9.5 Mac... p.s. any good compromise suggestion would be welcome too.. :-) Quote Link to comment
AndyM
Hmmm....The only way I can think to pull that one off in VW is to remove the object that you want to cast the shadow through, render at an angle where your object is fairly square to the viewer. In photoshop crop out the object with the "magic" shadow and reapply the image as a texture on to the original. Maybe someone else can think of a more direct way to do it. Quote Link to comment
MikeB
Andy, that sounds about right, I don't think there is any way to do it directly. Quote Link to comment
Guest
I've run into this before with customers. Unfortunately, this is a limitation of the rendering engine. Quote Link to comment
Dom
Tanks a lot, maybe i could try to create a semi transparent window, like eroded plexyglass... Quote Link to comment
