hollister design Studio
I'm trying to figure out how to recreate some as-built stairs for a landscape design project. The stairs are oblique to the riser and meet the walls at another angle. This is causing me some issues and I can't seem to force my way through. Stair tools: I haven't found a setting for stairs at an angle... I see oblique top or bottom tread but not an angle stair with the treads parallel but the direction at an angle. For now I've just created a generic solid - which is of course now transparent in top/plan - but I would love to know where this setting is located... Wall Tool: How do I make the end caps sit at an angle and follow line (A)? Side question, often after I've disconnected two walls the join angle stays active... how does one 'reset' the wall cap angle to 90deg? How do I get a nice curve at a wall join (B) and (C)? How do I get the transition at (D) to work? Thanks for any wall building hints! 1 Quote Link to comment
Tom W.
You could try using the legacy Simple Stair Tool then Split Tool to create the splay then convert to Auto-Hybrid. Don't think you can do it with the Stair Tool. Wall Tool: 1. Use Split Tool on Wall ends to get the angle you want. 2. Use Remove Wall Breaks Tool. 3. Draw Polyline then then Convert Objects to Shapes > Wall? 4. I think you will need 2 unjoined Walls + use the Split Tool in each case to get the end-angles you need (the bottom wall will need a short return on it to meet the sloping upper wall).
