Asincliar
I don't know how to put channel numbers or address numbers on my lights. I tried using Number Spotlight, but it just says "numbering complete" and then doesn't show the numbers at all. I've tried converting the symbol to lighting instrument, I've tried building a legend. Would someone be so kind as to walk me through it step by step, I know it's a lot. I'm a student and my undergrad professor only taught me to hand draft a plot. I'm having to learn Vectorworks on my own, and it's a little stressful. I'm working on my thesis project and can't get the channel and address numbers and my professor wants a vectorworks sheet instead of hand draft. I appreciate any help. The steps I'm taking 1. Create lighting pipe using lighting pipe tool 2. Place lighting symbol 3. Spotlight> Object Conversion> Convert to lighting device 4. Spotlight> Label legend manager, assign legend to lighting device 5. Spotlight>Spotlight Numbering, check the boxes for unit number, channel, address, focus, and dmx address. 6. Set direction, click ok. Nothing happens. I have tried everything. Can someone tell me how to show channel numbers? I can't find tutorials for it that make sense. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Scott C. Parker Posted July 12, 2022 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted July 12, 2022 You're missing step is to edit the 2d layout in the Label Legend to actually place the numbers where you want them. See attached and let us know if this fixes the issue. 1 Quote Link to comment
Sam Jones
What Scott said will probably solve your problem, but there are a few other things that can throw you curve. One of them is class visibility. If you continue to have problems with this or with any other workflows, don't be shy. There are a lot of people here to help. 3 Quote Link to comment
