file export high quality

A fairly easy way to do this is the RW Render Preview tool. Set it to whatever resolution you like, drag over the area you want rendered, (come back in a few days @ 400dpi...) and paste the result into Photoshop.Save the Photoshop file, and Bob's your uncle.

Watch your memory allocation with this-it is easy to swamp the program with high rez on large models-you can always do it in pieces, and composite in Photoshop.

I've found to get a high resolution image out of VW you have to change the pixel dimension in the export dialogue not the dpi.

Changing the dpi setting will export the same # of pixels just with more per inch, exporting a physically smaller image at a higher dpi, no net gain in pixels.

Try changing the pixel dimension. These are the two numbers in the top left of the export image dialogue. they are constrained to each other, so changing one will change the other. I usually get good results with images around 3000 pixels wide. They print will at 8 1/2 x 11 on a high resolution ink jet or laser printer, and they will print well at 24 x 30 on a large format color plotter.

Just remember to deselect the "resample image" box in photoshops image size dialogue so you don't lose any pixel information when you set the new physical dimension.

You may want to search past posts on this too, its come up several times.

Good Luck
