hollister design Studio
I'm not sure what's going on here. I have two door styles where I want a transom and I want vertical bars. Without the muntins the door and transom look as expected. As soon as I check "include muntin" the transom becomes 9.53" deep and is not editable. well, I can change the depth all I want, but it has no effect. Screen grab with muntins selected: Here without muntins - depth is correct: I've edited the depth from 9.53" to 2" repeatedly - as soon as I close the menu it returns to 9.53" I have a folding door style and also a slider style that are both doing this. thanks Edited June 27, 2022 by hollister design Studio typo Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
It looks like the munition depth is set to be By Style. You will have to edit the style and either set it to be By Instance or change the depth value in the style. Quote Link to comment
hollister design Studio
@Pat Stanford thanks for looking into this. I am attempting to edit the style not the instance. I'm using this style multiple times in the planset. here is a video: door style.mp4 What am I doing wrong here? Is there a special button to save changes? Quote Link to comment
hollister design Studio
I've uploaded a small file with both door styles and a wall. @Pat Stanfordif you had a moment to check what I've done wrong I would be so thankful! door styles with wrong depth.vwx Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Try changing the setting to By Style. It should be the arrow thingy. With it set to By Instance the value in the Style doesn't matter. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
No idea what is going on. It does the same for me. No matter if I set it to By Style or By Instance. Recreate the Style? Convert to Unstyled, Fix the Transom and then save back to the style? 1 Quote Link to comment
hollister design Studio
Well, glad it's not just me. One of those styles is a duplicate of the other that I made changes too. I'll recreate both fresh and burn the originals.... Quote Link to comment
hollister design Studio
@Pat Stanford this might be a bug. I created new doors (in green) and then made them styles (in red). The transom depth is now locked at 3/8" I can not change that number. How about you? door styles with wrong depth NEW .vwx Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
It is broken in your file. Here is one I made in VW2022 SP3.1. Try it in this file. Then import the Style to your file and see if it breaks. Pats Transom.vwx Quote Link to comment
hollister design Studio
Doesn't work. The bar depth stays at 3/8 no matter what I do. I even copied the door and changed it to unstyled and adjusted the depth. it still reverts the depth to 3/8". I've restarted the computer once. Will try a full shutdown and then a restart. hollister design Studio
Pat just wanted to thank you for the help. I've found that 2" is too wide and seems to break things. 1" depth is fine and works and is still editable 2" doesn't do anything. 6" makes it stupidly thick, but then I am unable to undo it - I have to ctrl Z back to before I made the change. If I enter anything above 1.99 it breaks. I'm happy with 1.5 as it's close to the actual window specs and will leave it at that! 1 Quote Link to comment
