MikeB
I think I've noticed an inaccuracy in the ray trace renderer. The specific situation is with a store front glazing system. When a shadow is cast throught the glass off the the mullion system on to an interior wall, 2 shadows appear even if there is only one light source. It appears that a reflection of the shadow is being cast on the glass from behind the glass. This dosen't seem right, in reality you can only see reflections of things that are in front of a piece of glass, right? Has anyone else noticed this, is it a bug, or is this just how it works? Guest
Mike, I'll have to test this to be certain, but I would suggest that you check the transparency of the glass. If you think about it, a transparent glass that is reflective will both reflect and show items behind it. It isn't so much of a bug, but rather sensitive to the amount of transparency. This is in a way like the need for a background item to a transparent object to be seen. I hope this helps. If anyone else has some input, please feel free to add to this post, as I look into this further. ------------------ Brian O Nemetschek North America Technical Support Specialist Quote Link to comment
