shaun_wasik
I have decided to look at purchasing renderworks, because I have been told it is the only way to progress if you want to be literate in 3D animation and design. My question is where can I buy it from in the UK and how much it costs. I would also like to know what are the benefits of having it Quote Link to comment
MikeB
As a user, there are two major benefits in Renderworks. 1. The ability to apply materials to objects 2. The Raytrace rendering engine. These two tool will allow you to produce photoreal renderings with accurate shadows. You can take a photograph of a material, modify it in photoshop, and then apply that material to your model. Its really simple. The raytrace renderer is good and supports reflective and transparent and translucent materials, so your glass can be transparent and slightly reflective or slightly opaque if you like. Finally, its easier to use than most modeling programs I've seen, and its embeded in the drafting application so you don't have to relearn how to draw to use it. Quote Link to comment
