Geoff Briggs
Howdy, If I model a multi story structure using typical platform framing ie. I have each floor on a layer and build the model with a layer link, how do I express exterior siding that is continuous from top to bottom? I use both RenderWorks and Art?lantis. Thanks a lot for any help. GB Quote Link to comment
rcarch
geoff- if you are using artlantis, you can export to artlantis using the VW classes. If you set up your model so that all your exterior walls, no matter what layer they are on, have the same class, then when it goes into artlantis, you just apply the texture to that class, and it will render the entire surface. if you want to have several types of exterior surfaces, just set up as many classes for exterior walls as you may need. this will work for the latest version (3.5) of artlantis. version 3.0 does not support this. as for renderwork, i would not know, since i have used artlantis since before rw was around. Tim Rodier
Renderworks works the same way. Just assign all of your wall classes the texture desired, it should go seamless. If that doesn't work, try grouping the walls together and then testurizing the group. When grouped, Renderworks seems to view them as one object it needs to texture. Quote Link to comment
