Interior Elevation Markers from Sheet Layer

I'm assuming this hasn't been changed in 2023.  Am I wrong?  I believe every other Marker that generates and links to a Viewport can be placed inside the Annotations of a SLVP.  Interior Elevations are the only exception and should be brought into line with the rest of the interface (please).

The help system is very unclear.  the Creating Interior Elevation Markers page doesn't mention where to place the marker - Design Layers, Sheet Layers, Viewport Annotations, etc.   See https://app-help.vectorworks.net/2023/eng/VW2023_Guide/Annotation2/Creating_interior_elevation_markers.htm

However, the Create Interior Elevation Viewport command page indicates that the marker is placed on the Design Layer per

 https://app-help.vectorworks.net/2023/eng/VW2023_Guide/Viewports1/Creating interior_elevation_viewports.htm

"Well, how did I get here?" 🙂

As regards usage: "And you may ask yourself, “How do I work this?”"

"And you may ask yourself, “Am I right? Am I wrong?”
And you may say to yourself, “My God! What have I done?”"

As regards the pain of it all:

"People on their way to work say, “Baby, what did you expect?”
Gonna burst into flame, ah"

I could go on…

...I wouldn't be too upset...

I do wish when I bought my license it would have been a bit more clear that some very basic tools were missing from the Landmark edition...
Or maybe better said I wish I had looked deeper.

As a residential landscape designer, I'm often designing decks, pool cabanas, outdoor kitchens, and other accessory structures.

Many of the missing Architect tools would be so helpful.

Hindsight!

Coming from AutoCAD I had no idea there would be a reason to get the Design Suite...

Design Suite seemed to me to be mostly adding the Spotlight features (and having been a production designer for most of my life (and never wanting to sit in a soul sucking meeting with network producers EVER again) I figured there was no way I'd ever need truss objects or cable layout tools!).

Although I have access to the Create Interior Elevations command with Architect, because of limitations in how it works (especially in small rooms / spaces where the Markers don’t fit) — I often / usually make them using the Create Section Viewport command (which is included with Landmark).

If you talk to your salesperson, you can probably upgrade your license to Designer without messing up the perpetual situation.  I was caught in the situation of needing several architectural tools in addition to the landscape package, do I popped for Designer.

Yeah like @rDesign says Interior Elevation Viewport isn't the greatest tool in the tool box (I never use it) so don't worry too much about not having access to it. Not sure what else you're missing though... I know I started off with Architect then v quickly decided I wanted access to the Landscape tools + it was the same cost to upgrade to Designer so I don't feel too bad about never exploring Spotlight or Connectcad...

Where does one start... Its a practically useless tool that never got in with the cool kids of the annotation tools that got updated. The ones that did get updated... like most things in VW, missed the goal line and ended up with all sorts of inconsistencies. The grid tool is perfect, the detail callout tool didn't have the ability to control the bubble in the style dialog and neither did the section elevation marker have the ability to control its line in the style. The poor callout tool is still somewhere out there adrift.

I use normal section elevations for interior elevations - much quicker and tweakable. If you don't have interior elevations, its no loss.

Don't get me started about the mind numbingly long winded it is to action back referencing on every. single. detail. you. want. There needs to be a settable default so it just does them.
