Window/Door PIO: Parts: Masonry Module?

Recommended Posts

It sets the masonry module, of course [smile] The masonry module is used as a multiple to determine the size of the masonry opening. Say you set your masonry module to 225mm, common in the UK. Then the "masonry opening" that is calculated for this window or door is a multiple (in both directions) of 225mm.

Yeah I figured that so what effect is the window size meant have on the opening? What's the relationship between the module and the window size I mean (especially if they don't correlate)?

Also, for the 225 masonry module, would you not be better to use 112.5 or does it have half measure covered?

You should use the half measure. There is no effect on the geometry of the window / door. This is just for the benefit of the "masonry opening height" and "masonry opening width" information fields that are calculated by the object.

I know this is an oldie, but I wanted to revisit the masonry module settings in the window/door tool.

Is there a way to give different values to the height and width of the module? It seems odd that they would both be determined by the one value.

Or am I missing something here?

The actual opening dimensions also need to account for and extra mortar joint so it's not a pure module dimension either.
