Data Visualisation legend: option to not create

We would like the ability to turn OFF the automatic creation of Data Visualisation legends in viewports.

 

In many circumstances the legend isn't required + it is extra work to enter the annotations each time + delete it. 

 

Perhaps in the 'Manage Data Visualisations' dialog there could be a 'Show Legend' column allowing you to check/uncheck the visualisations you want to generate a legend + those you don't?

Agreed! In fact I filed VE-102854 for this exact same wish a couple months ago, so at least it's in the system.

 

I've used the auto-generated legends exactly zero times.

possibly stating the obvious: With the viewport(s) selected: choose "none" in the data visualisation popup in the OIP and it disappears

Doing that gets rid of the Data Viz completely. It's just the legend I want to get rid of not the Data Viz itself

I cannot emphasise how irritating it is, and how much time I've spent, entering every. single. viewport. to delete the data viz legend so I really think this would be a great improvement.

Hello everybody. Implemented in VW2025 Update 4.

In the create viewport dialogs you can now select if you want to create a legend.

I wouldn't really call this implemented, since it still creates legends when adding Data Visualizations to existing viewports, which will always be my workflow.

Can it also be added to the Viewport Styles? This way a style update will trigger whether/not the DV legend displays.

Or even assign them a dedicated Class so that they can be turned off en masse via Class Visibilities.
