msclark
Is there a way to reposition wall textures? I have two walls butting up to one another and the textures don't line up. Most 3d programs have a way to manually or numericaly move the texture origin for ant given object, where is it in vectorworks? Quote Link to comment
msclark
I forgot the key part of this post - I am using windoor from ozcad, which works great in many ways but I am unable to reposition textures on the windoor wall sections, does anyone have any experience with this? Quote Link to comment
G_Hannigan
If you select the wall, go to the Render Tab of the OIP, select the appropriate sideand scroll down, do you see any controls for texture adjustment - Scale, Offset Horizontal & Vertical, Rotation? George Quote Link to comment
propstuff
I haven't tried it with windoor, but the attribute mapping tool allows you to just drag textures I seem to recall. Quote Link to comment
G_Hannigan
It does, but aligning textures between walls seems a little tricky this way. If you use the Original Repeat Mode, you can see the entire textured surface in a 3D view and align them. I guess they both take a some practice. George Quote Link to comment
msclark
Those control don't exist for windoor objects - I also emailed ozcad and they said that vectorwork's support for texture mapping plugin objects is spotty at best do they are unable to support that function at this time. I have resorted to moving the textures on the adjecent walls with the attribute mapping tool, which works fine, just more to do. Although there are a few issues like this with windoor, the ability to create complex windows and mulled units far surpasses vectorworks window tool. Worth looking at if you do a lot of custom window combinations. Thanks Quote Link to comment
G_Hannigan
Not clear - are you trying to adjust the textures on the walls or the inserted windoor objects themselves? I don't use windoor - not clear on how its objects interact with VW walls. I know they are more complex than VW's objects, but do they change the nature of the wall in a way that is different from a VW window or door? George Quote Link to comment
msclark
WIndoor enables you to make corner windows - it does this by drawing a wall above and or below the window because vectorworks foes not support corner window braks in thier walls. I wanted to adjust the texture on the windoor wall sections to line up with the vectorworks walls but have resorted to adjusting the textures on the vectorworks walls. Quote Link to comment
G_Hannigan
So you end up with a vertical seam in the wall where the VW portion meets the Windoor portion? Have you been able to get the textures to match well enough to disguise it? George Quote Link to comment
msclark
Yes, if I use the attribute mapping tool I can move the vectorworks wall texture to line up. It works fine, just means there are more walls to texture map then if I could just map the windoor wall. Quote Link to comment
