Lloyd Cates
When I go to "Site Model..." to create a DTM model from my 3D polygons, the resulting model always has several points around the perimeter that extend to the 0" height. What am I doing wrong? Using VW 11.5.1 Architect on a Mac. Quote Link to comment
islandmon
In the Create DTM dialog there an option for setting to '0' elevation. I use it with 3D loci to create a land mass ( solid ) when the vertices are all above the Z plane. The 2D Site Sections begin at the Ground Plane. Quote Link to comment
Lloyd Cates
The only elevations I found were the Maximum Elevation, Minimum Elevation and Datum Elevation. Nothing seems to change the "spikes" that extend down from the rest of the site contours. Quote Link to comment
dspearman
Take a look at the 3d polys that you are using for source data. Are any of their vertices a 0,0? You could also set the minimum elevation above the errent points and just dispense with them altogether. Quote Link to comment

Look at them in isometric or elevation view prior to executing the DTM. The 0,0 points will show up. Quote Link to comment
Lloyd Cates
Thanks guys, but no luck. The elevation points are properly set before executing DTM. If you have time, look at my problem at: http://homepage.mac.com/lcates/html/spikes.html I can elimiante these spikes but can not set the points back to the elevation where they belong. thanks for your help, Lloyd Quote Link to comment
Ramon PG
Loyd: How can you "eliminate the spikes but not set the points back to the elev it belongs..." Check the OBJ INFO window when editing 3D polygons and be sure you are editing vertices and not the whole item. Quote Link to comment
Lloyd Cates
Ramon- I can select the individual spikes on the "0" plane and hit delete and they go away. But when I try to change the point's elevation to where they should be, they default back to "0". By the way, nice photo of you. Quote Link to comment
