File/Edit/View/Modify task bar not working for VWX but is for finder etc

Question

Any idea why I can't get the above taskbar to drop down the options?  It works with any other software.  I can open a file etc via control O so the functions are there but I haven't memorized all the options.

Thanks in advance.

This sounds like a known issue on macOS Monterey. Are you able to fix it by turning off "Automatic GraphicsSwitching" in your macOS System Preferences? Also, if you close your laptop lid and then open it again, does this make the menus useable again?

Thanks!

I tried the lid close and that worked!  What does this mean?

That there is a Bug in Mac OS Monterey that interferes with Vectorworks.  To date VW has not been able to find a change they can make on their end to eliminate this problem. The semi-permanent fix is to turn off Automatic Graphics Switching. The permanent solution is for Apple to batch the bug in a future update to Monterey.
