Angle Column

Is it possible to angle a column to use as a decorative support?  I tried making a polygon in elevation view but it will not let me extrude it so I thought I could use a column but can't figure out how to angle it.

You should be able to extrude a polygon in any view without a problem.  And that's the best way to do this.  Post back with a file containing just the geometry you're trying to extrude if it's still a problem.

 

But if a column is what you need:

 

1. Create the column

2. switch to any 3D view.

3.  Select the column > Modify > Convert > Convert to Group.

4.  It will present 3 options for sub objects.  In this case I don't think it matters which option you choose.

 

You will end up with a group of generic solids and/or extrudes that will rotate in any direction with the rotate tool.
