Niels Timmer
There seem to be two ways to attach IFC data to wall styles but one doesn't seem to work. In the attached screenshots the two ways are shown. I know that Replace IFC data should be checked, so that is not the problem here. Do others experience this as well? Quote Link to comment
0 elepp
Hi. You should use the data manager for this. Much easier and flexible. You canfind more info here: https://app-help.vectorworks.net/2022/eng/VW2022_Guide/DataManager/Using_the_Data_Manager.htm 1 Quote Link to comment
0 matteoluigi
yeah, the Data Manager is a great tool to assign IFC-Data to objects in Vectorworks. There you can manage really much things, assign new data, change data, assign record-format/database data to original PSets and also manage custom PSets... It's a really powerful tool! 0 Niels Timmer
I'm familiar with the Data Manager. But how would you attach data like brick type and mortar joint type or other custom properties to a wall style? The data manager can only be used to make sure the data will be in the correct IfcPropertySet Quote Link to comment
0 Alex Skinner
Bumping this question. I am new to IFC's but a client is requesting us to understand it further. I've created a custom wall type but when I export this information is not carried over in the IFC. What is the the workflow for me to include this IFC data within the wall type I have created?
