Room Area Schedule with Total Square Footage

Hello all, new to the forum and Vectorworks.

I'm currently into space planning at the moment...

Is it possible to take the typical Room Finish schedule and tags that are generated when creating a Space with the Space tool, and create a Schedule that shows the spaces with their square footage and will tabulate all spaces and then each space that has the same Department name???

This is easily done, as you are already using Space objects. Add a column to your database that has in the database row the formula:

=Space.Occupancy

This will give you the department name (assuming you're using that field in the Space object). Add a second column that has the formula:

=Space.Area

This will return the area of the Space objects. Then you can summarize by occupancy and see your space areas total up. For more information on summarizing, go to topic 100 in the online help, "Worksheet commands"
