jstroming
Is there a way to utilize the hoist tool for self-climbing truss? Specifically want to be able to use the 3D function to take the chain up and over a tower header and back down to the truss being lifted. All the videos I've found online only show the tool being used for truss hung from a ceiling. Thanks in advance! Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Scott C. Parker Posted March 20, 2022 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted March 20, 2022 Short answer, no. But... For visual representation of what you're doing, try this. Use the hoist tool and place a hoist on the motor side of the tower. Use the hoist tool again and this time choose a "Hoist Chain Link" symbol as your hoist for the no-hoist chain side. Play with the hoist up/down setting to move the hook. Caution when making worksheets to count your hoists. It'll report two for the above. Easy to filter out all "Hoist Chain Link" objects to ignore. hth, Scott Quote Link to comment
Joe Golden ENT
I take a hoist and explode the symbol and manually adjust the chain. Then I make a symbol of it. Doesn't work with the hoist tool anymore, but not much does anymore IMHO. Quote Link to comment
