DanS
I have been attempting to convert VW11.5 sheet layers into PDF format. Although I am getting OK results hatches and patterns come out as solid black. Have tryed raising the resolution etc but no luck. Am using a program called PDF-Creator 0.81 that I have downloaded for free. Should I get full version of Adobe? Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Have you tried the "rasterize" option (in the VW's pulldown for the print dialog)? Not sure if it will work, or if it available for you when creating a PDF w/ PDF-Creator. Quote Link to comment
islandmon
Note also that on the Attributes palette the upper patterns are different than the lower patterns. Often the Lower will print when the upper don't. As for hatches make sure you have >Preferences>Zoom Line Thickness and hatches>set to page scale. Quote Link to comment
Diana
Dan, I use the full Adobe Acrobat Pro 6.0 and have no problem. Once loaded, the pdf converter comes up as a printer choice in Vectorworks, so you just print to PDF. I use the default high quality setting, and "check don't send fonts". Then it asks about postscript vs. non. Use NON-postscript. Grayscale comes out as dots(half-tone. Line weights come out identical to printing directly form VW. I print out (in pieces) from the pdf for a check and we then take the pdf files to be plotted. Quote Link to comment
Travis
Dan, In the Print Dialog be sure to set the Vectorworks print resolution down to 300dpi rather than the 360 default. For some reason, this makes a considerable difference when creating .pdf's. Good luck, Quote Link to comment
