CharlesJ
I would like to create a symbol where the text is always aligned to the rotation of the symbol without flipping if I rotate it motor than 90º. In the attached image, A is the original symbol with a rotation of 0º, B is the symbol rotated 90º and C has been rotated 93º but he text has flipped. How can I prevent the text from flipping so the it remains in the orientation in example B? Thanks!Untitled.pdf Quote Link to comment
michaelk
Is the text in the symbol linked to data or is it static? If static: Edit 2D component > select text > Text > Convert Text to Polylines. You'll end up with a group of closed poly lines. Set the fill color of the group to black. Now it will treat the "text" as regular geometry. Quote Link to comment
CharlesJ
Thanks, Michael. yes the text is linked to a record so each symbol instance can be unique. But I'll keep your suggestion in my back pocket! Charles Quote Link to comment
michaelk
Too bad 🙂. Your only option is File>Document Settings>Document Preferences…>Display Tab> Uncheck Adjust flipped text. But that will probably mess up everything else. Quote Link to comment
CharlesJ
Yeah, the nuclear option just won't work! Thanks though! 😀 Charles Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Try rotating the text in the symbol by 0.02°. This should be enough to confuse the adjust flipped text algorithm and keep your 90 and 93° versions looking the same while not being visibly noticeable in the drawing. 1 Quote Link to comment

I just ran into the same issue, and this solved it for me, thanks! Quote Link to comment
