Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted June 22, 2005 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted June 22, 2005 Question: IF you are a VWA user and IF you use the "Assign Room Finish" tool to embed data for room finish schedules THEN do you ever use the ID tool to put a "Room Finish ID" on your plans? OR do you always just create a room finish schedule and allow the room/space number to ID it? Responses appreciated! Quote Link to comment
Delmer
Robert, I don't quite fit your formula but if you're just looking for opinions . . . I have tried the assign room finish tool and for my purposes a plain old worksheet is better. Quote Link to comment
Kevin
Robert, Like Delmer, I don't fit your qualification, as I have never used the Finish Tool. I am stil trying to learn and use the Door and Window Schedules. I do not find the process intuitive and user friendly. I started with Minicad 7 and am now on VWA 11.5. Quote Link to comment
islandmon
Usually , we use simple Room & Wall Finishes symbols which are keyed to Finishes & Materials Code Legends on the plan sheet. The symbol includes the wall-column line and the finishes codes. here are the necessary set-up steps: 1)Column/Wall Line Grid code> 2)Area ID> 3)Room ID> 4)Floor&wall&ceiling codes> 5)Exst&Neww materials & finishes codes Legend> 6)Exst&Neww materials & finishes symbols Legend> 7)Finishes Schedule> 'Col-Wall Grid','Area ID','Room ID','Exst&Neww materials&finishes' Quote Link to comment
