Symbol thumbnail is blank in Resource Manager?

This happens a lot. I change the Thumbnail View I=of the symbol in the RM and then the thumbnail is blank. I'm not sure why that happens. I think it's something to do with class visibility, but if that is true that should not affect the thumbnail in the RM. Does anyone know why this happens and how to fix it? Look at symbol 3 & 11 in my screenshot.

Is the 3D component for that symbol visible when you edit the symbol? Edit the 3D component, make sure the class the geometry is on is set to visible, then when you exit the symbol it should show up again in the thumbnail. 

 

The worst for me are loci that I place on NonPlot. I always have to remember to make NonPlot invisible before exiting the symbol otherwise you get massive loci showing in the thumbnail...

That does not appear to be the problem. I can make the thumbnail appear and disappear randomly just by changing some of the view options in the RM, and there is no consistency to why the changes happen.
