spries
Hi All, I have some symbol drawings that need some streamlining. The symbol is made up from several dozens sub-symbols. Some of those sub-symbols appear to be the same. The only difference seems to be the name of the symbol. Is there an efficient way to compare symbols if they are geometrically identical. The select similar tool works to a certain degree. Any other ideas? Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
I don't think there is a good solution that will spit out a yes/no answer for you. Way too many possibilities for slight differences. Number of obejcts Type of objects Class of objects Groups Attributes of obejcts I think if I had to do this I would create a worksheet with the primary things listed above and use a database row to show each object inside the symbol definition. Do this for each symbol definition and then do a manual comparison for the number of objects and type of objects and then as far down as you have time/patience to go. Quote Link to comment
