Wanted: Senior Architectural Technologist - remote within BC

Thuja Architecture Studio, based in Cumberland on Vancouver Island in BC, is seeking a part- or full-time Senior Architectural Technologist. Remote work is fine, but candidate must be based in BC and/or have at least 4 years work experience in BC an be intimately familiar with BC building code.

Level of Experience:

Senior – 4+ years minimum

 

Salary:

Depending on Experience (contract work or employment negotiable)

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be able to assist in all aspects of project development from design through to field reviews. We are especially seeking someone experienced in developing building permit packages and construction drawing sets from schematic plans. They will be able to model 2D (and ideally 3D) renderings on Vectorworks and produce highly detailed construction drawings independently.

 

Qualifications & Skill Sets:

Education from an accredited institution, architectural technology program.

Minimum 4+ years Canadian experience within BC.

Extensive experience in modelling mandatory, Sketchup is an asset.

Experience modelling with Vectorworks highly preferred, though willing to train right candidate with other CAD software experience.

Extensive knowledge of current BC Building Code.

Good understanding of local building bylaws.

Ability to work independently.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Effective problem solving skills.

Well organized and great attention to detail.
