PatrickC
Hi All Does anyone know why this happens and better yet how to fix it in Vectorworks 2022? Thanks in advance Quote Link to comment
0 Guest Wes Gardner
@PatrickC, I don't know why it happens but I DO KNOW that it happens...it's a known bug and has been reported. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Wes Quote Link to comment
0 jnr
Wes: Maybe the same thing? Red squares are probably clerestory windows in a wall 20' beyond, but are appearing as in the cut plane Quote Link to comment
0 jnr
W: Goes away when the glazing class is switched to translucent. Weird Quote Link to comment
0 Guest Wes Gardner
@jnr , yes, I'm getting the same...bug has been filed...thanks for letting us know! Wes Quote Link to comment
0 zeno
Same situation on VB-172889 created on 2020-07-27 09:05 AM and rated as Moderate Actually same problem persist and users can't create any views if stairs and clip cube are present Edited January 19, 2022 by zeno 4 Quote Link to comment
0 Tom W.
I'm getting same thing - horrible This has been going on since 2020-07-27? Hope it's sorted soon... 1 Quote Link to comment

0 Tom W.
Am I right to say that this bug is resolved now? I have done a couple of quick checks in VW2023 + can't see it happening anymore... Have you tried @zeno? I really hope I am right as this was a really horrible problem. It meant you couldn't use Clip Cube views if you had a Stair in the model which was crazy. 🤞 Quote Link to comment
0 Pavol D.
I am afraid to say it still there 😬 It is indeed horrible problem! Here one example from 2023 SP3: 1 Quote Link to comment
0 Tom W.
Damn. Thanks for checking though. Funny though how a VW2022 file I opened in VW2023 wasn't showing it. Will need to test further... Quote Link to comment
0 jnr
Still seeing it on converted 2022 files as well. In this case, rotate the model, and the artifacts stay in place. Stairs are worse. but then again the stair tool is still one of the worst on the market. 2 Quote Link to comment
0 Tom W.
Is anyone at VW able to say what the latest is on this issue? There are posts going back to 2019 about it + at least two bug reports filed on it: VB-166566 VB-172889 @Matt Panzer? @Rob Nykolaishen? @jblock? According to this post it is still happening in VW2024. Many thanks 2 Quote Link to comment

I'm also seeing this in VW24 in 2023 converted file, and also seem to be related to stairs. Quote Link to comment
0 gvlgvlgvl
I am still seeing this issue in new files created in VW2024 SP5 Quote Link to comment
0 D.Bonham
I am still having this issue on VW 2025 SP3.1... brand new file too 1 Quote Link to comment
0 Tom W.
I don't think I've seen any response from VW to any of the multiple posts on this. I don't know if any of the people who filed VBs have had responses they can share...? All a bit depressing. 1 Quote Link to comment
0 Andy Broomell
This issue was really bad in 2022, though in recent years I've only rarely seen it. Still pops up occasionally though. I just found an unaddressed VB of mine on the topic to add to the list: VB-185124 from 2022-02-04. 1 Quote Link to comment
0 Tom W.
I am seeing it in VW2024 + VW2025 but in both cases they are files created in earlier versions originally if that makes a difference...? I don't always have Stairs in my buildings so easy to forget the issue exists sometimes... Quote Link to comment

I figured a work around which was to make the stair a concrete stair, rather than a framed stair. For whatever reason that solved the issue I tried making a new 2025 file and remaking the stair, had the same issue, but only on the first riser... another VWorks mystery. Quote Link to comment
0 rDesign
@JuanP Is there anyone from Vw that can give an update on the multiple bug reports listed in this thread? The behavior was reported as far back as 2019 — and is still happening in Vw2025. Thanks. Edited Monday at 01:57 PM by rDesign 2 Quote Link to comment
