NURBS on a Sphere

Recommended Posts

I may be overthinking this, or my lack of experience may be showing.  Oops.

I am struggling with drawing a NURBS directly onto the surface of a sphere.  I am puzzled how to keep the vertices arranged without having a few veer off into space.  Is there a Snap to Surface command I am missing?  I have tried Project, but the design is based on the sphere.  (Imagine drawing an earth globe onto a blank sphere.)

Aside from the sphere dilemma, controlling vertex placement in 3D space has been my biggest headache, in general.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you so much in advance.
