buz
Drawing a kitchen and inserted a 36" refrigerator which wanted to be a 33" refer so I edited the symbol in 2D and 3D to be a 33". Now when I view it ... in 2D it's in one place and in 3D it moves a couple inches on the +x axis ... kinda buries into a wall. Any ideas on how to fix this? TIA Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted February 9, 2005 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted February 9, 2005 buz, as you have discovered, the coordinate space for 2D and 3D within symbols is independent. It's up to you to synchronize the locations of the various geometry. The only exception to this is hybrid primitives (walls, roof planes, slabs, etc.) which are single objects that properly show up in both 2D and 3D. Quote Link to comment
buz
I went back and edited each symbol (2D and 3D) to center in the editing space. It looks as though they are very close - maybe not perfect, Is this the means of synchronizing the two? Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted February 9, 2005 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted February 9, 2005 Pick the view that you want to "control". Draw a locus at a point that both 2D and 3D share. If you're in a 2D view, draw a 3D locus. If you're in a 3D view, draw a 2D locus. Exit and re-enter the symbol definition, going to the "other" view. Snap the geometry to the locus. Delete the locus. Quote Link to comment
