PAD
I am trying to modify a plug-in window from the Vectorworks Resource Files. I want to change the profile of the jamb detail/profile to something much more complex than a rectangle. How do I do this & retain it's 3D capability. Every time I try to do it, it converts to a 2D symbol. This doesn't seem to be covered in the Vectorworks V10 manual. Help! Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted January 19, 2005 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted January 19, 2005 If you want to do this, you'll have to make a hybrid symbol. You can "ungroup" an instance of the plug-in window in a 3D view to use as the starting point. Quote Link to comment
PAD
How do you regroup into a hybrid object again? I thought that once a hybrid object was ungrouped that it was not possible to regroup? Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted January 20, 2005 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted January 20, 2005 You make it a hybrid symbol. Try this: configure a window object that it the size and shape you want. Duplicate it. In "Plan" view, ungroup one of the windows. In a 3D view, ungroup the other. Modify the 3D window the way you want. Then register it over the 2D object (in Top or Plan view) and select it and create a symbol. This should work the way you want. Quote Link to comment
