updating older files to use VW 11 standards

I just upgraded to VW-11 and am in the process of upgrading a number of my in-process files to utilize the VW-11 standards for viewports, layer structures, sheets, etc..

I've gone about doing this by making a VW-11 template and then transfering the drawing data to the correctly set up file. My hope was to be able to just cut and paste the objects (by layer and or class if necessary) into the new file. This has worked for some of the data, but when walls are pasted into the new file, they crash the program.

Is there a more expedient way to accomplish what I'm trying to do? Or, is there a way to overcome the fatal problem associated with pasting walls?

Taproot, you may want to call tech support and have them work with you to see what is causing the crash. For example, what version are you coming from? Also, are you converting the old documents, then cutting and pasting, or cutting from the old version of the application into the new one?

I've already translated the older drawings into VW-11, so I'm cutting and pasting within the same application.

I will go ahead and contact tech support, if the method that I'm using seems sound.
