Anders Blomberg
I used to create plan illustrations from 2D AutoCAD drawings, color them in Photoshop, and adding text in InDesign, sometimes with a little manual hand drawing as an addition. Definitely not on an expert level but good enough for simple plans. An example below. I believe I would be able to do this all within VW to save some time (and licensing money). I haven't really played around with illustrations/visualisations to much yet but it'd be interesting to see examples of plan drawings made in VectorWorks, just to get inspired and see what can be done. Anyone willing to share some work they've done and/or some tips & tricks? Quote Link to comment
rDesign
@Anders Blomberg - I found this thread of VW users sharing some images of their landscape drawing sheets. HTH. 2 Quote Link to comment

I think in rDesigns link, people concentrated on showing their most technical plans and detailing. Although very attractive .... But I have often seen more colorful illustrations from VW Landscape, like for competitions. From time to time here on the Forum in other Threads or with VW Advertising. And I think this is where VW is strongest. You can easily do very appealing 2D drawings without loosing plan generation and connection to updates and changes. I would any time do 2D design/layout works, which I would have done in Corel Draw, QuarkExpress, Illustrator, InDesign .... many years ago, directly in Vectorworks. I use VW because I am used to it, seldom I try in Apple Pages. 1 hour ago, Anders Blomberg said: color them in Photoshop, and adding text in InDesign, I believe I would be able to do this all within VW to save some time (and licensing money) I would at least switch to Affinity Photo and Affinity Publisher. Or why not already go cross platform and FreeOpenSource with GIMP, Krita, Scribus, .... But if you want to save time AND money, try and stay within Vectorworks. 1 Quote Link to comment
Anders Blomberg
@rDesign That certainly gives me some inspiration for the technical side! Was mainly thinking of more illustratrative plans though. I suppose there might be some buried deep in the forum but I couldn't find any. @zoomer Comforting to hear! I'll try and stay within VW for sure. Quote Link to comment

rDesign
I usually find that using Google is more effective at finding things on the Vw Forum than using the Forum’s built-in Search bar. A Google image search for “Vectorworks landscape plan” brought up a bunch of nice illustrative landscape plan images, some of the results linked below: https://land8.com/a-different-way-of-thinking-pacific-coast-land-design-and-vectorworks-landmark/ https://www.nicholasdexter.com/CAD-landscape-design-vectorworks.html https://www.vectorworks.net/en-US/customer-showcase/how-a-bim-for-landscape-process-was-successfully-implemented https://blog.vectorworks.net/how-fpcr-finds-efficiency-in-vectorworks-for-multidisciplinary-design Edited November 5, 2021 by rDesign 1 Quote Link to comment
