techdef
I know its not a transom anymore, but same idea. We have to have glazing to 42" above finish floor here to keep kids from falling out. I'd like an easy way to make solid glazing below, then mixed design above. Quote Link to comment
michaelk
You just need to make a custom window. In the Window OIP click on Settings. In the Window Settings dialog box: General > Sash: Custom Below that click on Custom Says Settings… In the Custom Sash Options dialog, set number of rows to 2. Use the << and >> buttons at the bottom to set the parameters for each sash. Quote Link to comment
michaelk
PS. If you are using 2022, take a quick look at WinDoor. It handles very complicated window, door, and combination units very easily. 1 Quote Link to comment
techdef
MIchealk, thanks for the response. The Custom doesnt seem to handle 3 parts gracefully, ie: two rows, with two columns above one wider. Mine keeps freaking out and growing and growing. Also, assuming WinDoor isn't on Mac? but that may be a bad assumption. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
WinDoor is an integrated Window and Door Tool that was originally supplied by the Australian Distributor. They were acquired by VW over the summer and it has now been included in VW2022. Go to the Help Menu:Install Partner Products to install it. 1 Quote Link to comment

michaelk
@techdef your signature says VW 2019. @Pat Stanford do you know if 2022 is required? Quote Link to comment
michaelk
@techdef What I've done in the past is to use custom sash to get it close and then use that geometry to make a symbol that get's it the rest of the way there. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
I believe that VW2022 is the only version that is shipping with WinDoor. Quote Link to comment
michaelk
I know you can get to the WinDoor installer through Help > Install Partner Products…, which opens a web browser inside VW. I'm not sure if there is a way to get there through the regular customer portal at customers.vectorworks.net 1 Quote Link to comment
TomKen
I use the curtain wall tool to create custom windows then group the curtain wall and put it into a window opening in a wall. We do mostly schools and curtain wall most closely resembles the type of window we specify anyway. 1 Quote Link to comment
