tismacfan2
Is there a reason I can't see layers of different scale at the same time? Pascal Quote Link to comment
Hans-Olav
If you uncheck unified view you should be able to see them https://app-help.vectorworks.net/2021/eng/index.htm#t=VW2021_Guide%2FViews%2FUnified_layer_view.htm&rhsearch=unified view&rhhlterm=unified view&rhsyns= Quote Link to comment
zoomer
There is a Sub Setting in Unified View (double click the Icon), which "ignore Layers of different scale" which will hide these when activated. So you can have Unified View activated to see all Layers. (I use to have all Layers at same scale though) Unified View itself is basically to control if other Layers will follow the View Navigations of the Active Layer. If UV off, the non-active Layers will just stay where they are when navigating the view ..... 3 Quote Link to comment
Don Oliver
I have Vectorworks 2023. Where do I find the Unified View settings? Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Unified View is on by default in VW2023. If you need to change it you have to do it on a file by file basis. Document Preferences:Legacy 2D pane. Turn on Legacy 2D, adjust the Unified View setting. Turn Legacy 2D back off if you don't need it. There is a menu command script to do these steps here: 1 Quote Link to comment
nyh
I have Vectorworks 2023. Is there a reason I can't see layers of different scale at the same time? Both Layer & Class options are set at 'show,. snaps, modify others' I cannot find the 'Unified view command' to de select the 'ignore Layers of command' Thanks Quote Link to comment
nyh
I have found 'the 'ignore Layers of command'. it is now deselected i still cannot see layers with a different scale Thanks 1 Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Unified View is now on by default. Vectorworks is updating the hybrid view technology, so Screen Plane objects have been partially deprecated. If you want the VW2022 functionality you can turn it on for any document by going to Document Preferences:Legacy 2D pane. Turn on Legacy 2D and then you can turn off Unified View. If you don't need any of the other functions you can then turn Legacy 2D back off. Quote Link to comment
dthompson
Having the same, or similar issue in VW 2023: Several drawing files with layers at multiple scales only shows objects drawn on the active layer; layers and classes are both set to "Show/Snap/Modify Others", toggling between "Show layers with different scale" on or off changes nothing; views are set to Top/Plan. This problem appears to occur with any new drawing file created new with VW 2023, but isn't happening with a file created in a previous version and opened in 2023. Quote Link to comment
michaelk
Make sure unified view is turned off. Just tried it in 2023 and just turning off unified view allowed me to see layers of different scales. 1 1 Quote Link to comment
dthompson
Thanks michael k, worked like a charm. I think that was the only setting I didn't try Quote Link to comment
