Silje Jessica
Hi everyone, We have upgraded our mac's to Catalina and are using NAVI graphics cards that should be Redshift compliant, but when investigating the render options we are not in fact able to use redshift. Any idea why this might be happening? "Redshift is not supported on this machine. Realistic will be used." Quote Link to comment
zoomer
It is not only about the GPU (minimum of 8 GB VRAM) but also the minimum Operation System. For Mac : starting from 11.5 Big Sur and newer macOS. https://www.maxon.net/de/requirements/redshift-requirements Edited October 9, 2021 by zoomer Quote Link to comment
Amorphous - Julian
Oh I missed that... I thought Catalina was sufficient. So if we press 'update' while in the redshift mode, does it just give us a renderworks render @zoomer? Quote Link to comment
zoomer
I just tried one of the new Redshift Modes in my 3D View so far. (And it looked pretty familiar to standard RW Rendering with Cinemas Physical Renderer) Tried a SLVP copy with Redshift. I would think yes. If you select a Renderworks Style-Redshift-..... you will get a usual RW Rendering, just using Redshift GPU instead of the old CPU Renderer. Quote Link to comment
Guest Selin
Correct. Redshift renders as Realistic RW when system requirements are not met. Quote Link to comment
