Mickey
First does lightwright data exchange work with student versions? Second does lightwright data exchange work with a watermarked version? I'm trying to help someone with a show, and the file was created in a student version which creates a watermarked file. It has a light plot already drawn. I tried connecting the file to lightwright, but it doesn't import anything into said lightwright. Before I start chasing my tail I want to know if it is supposed to work. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee klinzey Posted October 5, 2021 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted October 5, 2021 Yes it should work fine with any student version. Make sure if you are converting the file from an older version you save the file after it gets converted. The file must exist on the disk in order for the data exchange to work. Quote Link to comment

Lightwright
Mickey, If you're opening old Vectorworks files, the address information may be in the "wrong" fields for use with current versions of Vectorworks. There's a page about Vectorworks and Addresses at lightwright.com via the Resources menu. Addresses were often put into the Dimmer field, when transitioning the file to Lightwright 6 you need to move them or use "Legacy" mode in Lightwright. - John Quote Link to comment
