Jordan Grimes
Does anyone here do freelance AV design work and charge anything other than hourly? I have put many hours into trying to determine how to charge fairly something like per sheet or per project. If I'm really fast at designing and can get a $500 valued project done in 5hrs but I'm not charging $100/hr then I could be making more money by charging per sheet or project. Please weigh in your thoughts. Quote Link to comment
rjtiedeman
Design work (thinking, planning and drawing) by nature is hourly. Also, the client or team has a lot to do with how much time is spent on a project. I normally have to estimate projects prior to start. So a "Per sheet" structure would be out of the question for me. Also it it not unusual for projects to go off course and I have to submit "out of scope" estimates. Edited September 25, 2021 by rjtiedeman 2 Quote Link to comment
