steven_zhou Posted September 22, 2005 Share Posted September 22, 2005 hi,i am try to insert many cars in my site plan, but the terrain is not flat, so i have to rotate some cars followed(not edit the symbol to make all look same angle). but it seems 3d symbol can only be rotated in xy plan. how could i do it? thanks Quote Link to comment

Switch to top/plan. If it says the symbol is 2-D, it has 2-D components. Such a symbol is restricted from rotating out of the XY plane because such a rotation would break the linkage between the 2-D and 3-D components. You can make the symbol purely 3-D by editing the symbol while in top/plan and removing all its 3-D components, or you can copy and paste the 3-D components into a new symbol. Quote Link to comment
islandmon Posted September 22, 2005 Share Posted September 22, 2005 If the vehicle are for presentation only why not use Image Props instead. I usually place a couple 3D vehicles in the terrain and then a bunch of props all over the place with different class visibilities depending on the different view angles, etc. Quote Link to comment
