custom pattern

hi everyone,

do you know how to creat some patterns of my own for using in the "pen attributes"? coz my boss does not like most of the default styles. and i can use that into any files in vectorworks?

thanks, do you think if i find other patterns which looks good where they were created in autocad or made by freehand drawings in vectorworks, can i find some ways to make it as my custom pattern? many thanks again

I think you (and you boss) will prefer "hatches" over "patterns". There are a bunch of hatches shipped with VW's but they are well hidden. Open your Resource Browser, then go to Files & Folders>Add new Favorite, then navigate to the VW's folder and then to the "Extras" folder. In there are two files: "hatches.mcd" and "hatches_land.mcd". Select one (at a time) and thereafter all those hatches will be available to you. Hope that helps :-)

I'm with the Boss ..the old Quickdraw patterns for Landscape are timelessly bad ; )

Image Fills make great pattern fills and presenations with low overhead. Imagine that every image ever created can form the basic texture map for image fills. Have you experimented with the Stipple Tool ?
