Matt Overton
Is the redesigned Attribute palette now dockable in a sensible fashion? Seems form the video it is locked to a single column layout, yet it would be great for integrating with the rest of the palettes if it had a 2 column horizontal layout. Pen next Fill instead of being on top. It would then work nicely with the natural width of the Navigation or Object Info. 2 Quote Link to comment
Kevin McAllister
It's not that smart yet...... at least from what I've tried so far. Kevin 2 Quote Link to comment
Popular Post bcd
Yep, it's takes up a lotta lotta space, Couldn't the color field and the transparancy field be intergrated? There seems to be more room for refinement. There are so many horizontal dividers and spaces it's bigger than Basic or any of the other Tool Set Palettes Edited September 16, 2021 by bcd 6 Quote Link to comment
Kevin McAllister
The challenge of course is that all of the other things to dock it with are wider. Its almost always going to want to have a horizontal orientation.... Kevin Quote Link to comment

Popular Post Jeff Prince
Personally, I avoid using the attributes panel and do all my work byclass for the most part because it feels like a CAD instead of artistic tool. However, if it behaved more like Concepts or Procreate for the Ipad, it might be more useful and inspirational when working in the Vectorworks environment. Concepts puts several brushes and their attributes in a very compact and expandable space. I think it is one of my favorite art tool interfaces of all time. I could see a similar redesign of Attributes as a popup cursor menu being an excellent addition. Changing colors is wonderful experience, the color wheel spins so nicely and organizes swatches in the way a designer tends to think about and apply color. Changing lineweights is equally pleasant with sliders and presets quickly accessed. The same UI design extends to transparency and similar. bcd
Yes, circular concentric was my first thought. Quote Link to comment

Still popups are great. Quote Link to comment
MarcelP102
My first reaction to the redisigned Atributes Palette was: wow that's huge. The added row's with the text 'Pen' 'Fill' and 'Effects' are part of reason why. Don't get me wrong, I think this space is good to separate them. Also compared to other parts of the interface the atributes palette is almost twice as high as for example the rows of object info palette. I do think the atributes palette is more import, so it has to be a bit bigger. But I think right now it's to 'bold' IMHO. Other than that I really like the submenu opens next to the atributes palette, nice look with good images explaining the functions. Only I think that the "Edit Marker" needs some love. This seems the only part left of the old UI. Also the checkbox to activate the shadow seems akward. Edited September 18, 2021 by MarcelP102 Quote Link to comment
hollister design Studio
I put this up on another thread about the attribute palette. Definitely not as svelte as 2021... Nor as legible at a glance. I'm really happy they're exploring new UI (ahem, dark mode for windows, ahem). I don't think they hit it on the first shot here with the attribute palette. Also if the attribute is set to 'none' the color band disappears - why is the "transparency" band still there?
