Landscape Boulders

Recommended Posts

@mjm Thank you very much. Do you happen to know a convenient way on adjusting the size of the boulders (length, width, depth)?

*** I have right clicked and figured out how to adjust the width and length, but it keeps adjusting all of the boulders to be the same size.

Thank you!

Click on the boulder, look at the Object Info Panel (OIP), change the Scaling Method, play with the x,y,z values to get something you like.

The boulders in this screen shot are the same object, the highlighted one has been scaled as seen in the OIP.

@MaKaela your question prompted me to look at Subdivision Objects for the first time. If you really want to customise the boulders you can create a duplicate then edit the 3D Component; convert the Mesh to Subdivision (Modify>Convert); use the Edit Subdivision Tool (3D Modelling Tool Set) to re-sculpt it as desired; convert it back to a Mesh object (Modify>Convert); edit the 2D Component to match the new shape then exit symbol. This is probably complete overkill for your purposes but at least it meant I got to play around with Subdivision!
